About Us
Our History
It started with a coupon for cat food.
It wasn't a brand I feed my resident cats, but it was enough of a deal that I figured I get it and feed the stray cats outside. Soon it grew from feeding 1 cat to 5. I happened to run into someone who did cat rescue and they told me about TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return). Well I figured if I was feeding them, I was responsible for them so I learned to TNR. Then I made shelters for them. Then I wanted to help others.
PKM was formed to provide sensible solutions and create a network of caring individuals who can help connect pet owners and stray cat caretakers to community resources. Whether it's an owned pet or community cat, we want to help people provide them the best life possible. That may be supporting a colony caretaker with TNR and winter shelters, connecting a pet owner with low cost spay & neuter options, pet pantries, medical care for their pets or rescue placement if needed.
We've grown considerably since that first cat we saved with a food coupon. Thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community we've built.
Cats Are Our Mission
Porch Kitty Manor strives to improve the lives of the stray cat population by means of education, TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) , nutritious food, shelter, and medical care. We focus on the individual; the low income cat owner who may not have the resources to care for their cat, caretakers caring for strays aka community cats, cats and kittens in need of rescue and/or spay & neuter. We utilize Acct Philly, and partner with local rescues & resources to help all those we come in contact with. This teamwork creates a network of individuals making a long-lasting difference in the lives of Philly's cats.
